The adventure course basically deals with activities like Trekking, Rock Climbing, Bush Craft, River Crossing, Lectures, Camping, Cooking, Navigation, study of flora and fauna, their conservation and many other activities. Through these activities, trainees realize the potential of their characters, strength and weaknesses, both physical and mental, and ability to lead an active life under any natural condition. It teaches what no class room can teach, the course which inculcates in young minds and bodies the very essence of outdoor, individual skills and team work.

Day1.- After early morning breakfast, we will head out to Spiti valley.
After reaching Manali, you will be provided with the vehicle, and the driver will drive you down for the tour you have chosen. As you will be driven across the region, you can soak in the atmosphere and understand the landscape. You get to see the Kunzum-Pass. There are several interesting sights of various vegetation that grows in the region. You will reach Mane Yogma at evening and accommodation will be provide at Mane.


Day2- Reception, paper work, distribution of equipment’s and Instructions about Course, information about flora and fauna, surrounding villages, nearby peaks, monasteries, Mane Yogma village tour and other information about Spiti valley and Mane Yogma village. After lunch, Introduction to Mountaineering equipment, lecture on climbing equipment, Lecture on Mountain Manners, Introduction to Rope, Coiling of Rope, lecture on Knots, Briefing for fi rst outing..


Day3. – Rock craft – Lecture, demonstration and practice. Outdoor session.
Walk to crag ( climbing area, half hour walk), bellay practice, rock climbing demonstration and practice on different routes. Routes will go from beginners friendly to advance. Rock terminology. Back to MMA. Knots practice and games. Breafi ng for next day.


Day4. – Rock craft- Lecture, demonstration and practice of Rappelling. Outdoor session.
Walk to crag. Rappelling and jumarring demonstration and practice on different routes which are set on different angle and difficulty. Lecture on anchoring. Back to MMA. Lecture on rucksack packing. Acclimatization walk to Lahar top (3795m) and briefing for next day.


Day5. – Trekking and Camping.
Trek will start after breakfast. Put on sunglasses, fi ll your water bottle and start climbing toward Yang-tso lake. It’s a 2.5 hours of hike and in between you will enjoy panoramic view of Spiti valley and will see 13 villages from single point. After having lunch at lake, move to Dogsa camp site 3850m. Lecture on tent pitching. Pitch a tent and rest.


Day6. – River crossing and Waterfall.
After breakfast pack some extra clothes for river crossing. We will move to Chu-Dolsa waterfall and while coming back we will demonstrate and practice techniques of river crossing. It will help and boost confidence to cross river on upcoming treks and expeditions. And back to Dogsa campsite.


Day 7.- Back to village.
After having breakfast at Dogsa we will move back to MMA,Mane village 1.5 hours of walk. While returning towards Villege you will explore Ong-dang gorge ( it’s very deep gorge formed by continues fl ow of water over rock). Return equipments, group photo, completion badge ceremony after lunch and at night enjoy bon fi re and music, course ends.


Day8. – After early breakfast, proceed towards Manali.
Enjoy the view towards Manali. On the way you can also stop at the famous Chicham bridge (Asia’s highest suspension bridge), Ladarcha ground, kunzom pass and Solang valley. Evening drop at Manali Volvo Stand Or Hotel.

Things To Carry

  • Rucksack bag 45-60l , Sunglasses, slippers, trekking boots, other toiletries, warm fleece and jacket, head light or torch, first aid kit, power bank for backup, camera and others.

REFUND OF COURSE CHARGES

  • The course charges refund policy of MIM is as under:
  • 25% deduction in case of cancellation with prior notice of more than 30 days.
  • 50% deduction in case of cancellation with prior notice between 30 to 15 days.
  • 100% forfeiture in case of cancellation with prior notice of less than 15 days.
  • In case of cancellation of seat by the Institute due to some unavoidable circumstances, 100% course fee will be refunded to the candidate.
